Haberdashing around… Tooting

January 17, 2007

Wimbledon sewing machine co. Tooting Bec

This is by far the nicest haberdashery experience in South London. They surprise with all sorts of unexpected craft items, knit, interfacing, machines, some good cloth too.

Other Tooting fabric shops such as Nasar, Silkhance, the market and others on that strip make for a worthwhile stroll from Tooting Bec to Tooting Broadway. There is also another fabric shop towards Balham tube in that high road too. Fans of Indian/Pakistani cuisine should check out Kastoori and Mirch for unrivalled eating. Forget the west end for haberdashing about London. South is where it’s at.

You are so generous to share your tips of where to buy things. I live in Kent and we have next to nowhere to buy fabric and haberdashery bits. It is definitely worth a trip into town and now I know where to go – thanks!!!
